History of our Club
West Country Woodcarvers were formed in January 2000. Prior to that it had been the Bristol Branch of The British Woodcarvers Association.
The main base of our club is in Downend, Bristol and there is a branch based in Radstock, Somerset. Our North Devon members meet as often as they can. There are also a number of associate members dotted around the West Country.
The aim of the club is to provide a meeting place for its members to carve and discuss the art of woodcarving. We also like to demonstrate this at public shows and exhibitions, and generally encourage more interest in the ancient art and skill of woodcarving. Across our membership we have varying degrees of skills and abilities.
Absolute beginners are welcomed, and given help and encouragement.
